About Psychologist Isabel Lopez
Born in in Mexico City. She graduated with a degree in Psychology from the National Autonomous University of Mexico/ Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México (UNAM) focusing in the Cognitive-Behavioral Psychological Approach.
Her first work experience was working with adolescents, as Learning Advisor, as well as assisting/advising parents regarding behavioral issues, as well as working with children with cerebral paralysis, which made her value people in their Essence of Human Being
When she moved to Querétaro she learned the GESTALT Humanist Psychological approach while studying the specialization in “Management of groups of Gestalt Sensibilization”, “Psychotherapy for Adults and Couples” and “Psychotherapy for children and adolescents.”
This Humanistic approach launched her into the creation of self-esteem programs/workshops for children, youth and adults such as “In Search of the Magician and his Fantastic Stones”, “The Magician’s Treasure”, “Wings to Fly”. “Re-encountering the Magician”, ” as well as the creation of didactic material focused on the management of emotions.
Her moto is “I am a psychologist by trade, but a Humanist of heart”.
Through her career she worked as Psychologist in all levels of education institutions from pre-kindy to high school providing support and lecturing until finally in 2003, she founded in Mexico the Cree-Ser Institute, a Human Development Center, where she practiced as Psychologist and taught her Self-Esteem workshops.
In that same year she joined the Faculty of Nursing at the Autonomous University of Querétaro as Lecturer in Psychology and Human Development.
Her life took a wild turn when she moved to Australia. In this beautiful Australia, she became very interested in the psychological effects of Migration on people and she has been providing support to the Latino-Hispanic Community in Perth. Which has given an important sense of belonging and has given her a deep understanding of her own roots.
When first she arrived to Australia she worked in a Learning Centre as Spanish Tutor for under 5 year-olds.
She is very involved with the Latino-Hispanic Community in Perth. And she currently teaches Spanish at the Trinity School for Seniors. For the last two years she has been a part of Latin Studio in Radio Fremantle, which has allowed her to keep in touch with the Latino-Hispanic community and Spanish language lovers.
This space has given her the opportunity to reach the Spanish speaking Community and to provide clear, accurate and information of interest on topics relating to the individual, family, couples, society, promote personal worth, as well as prevention from the psychological field.
